Important Information Regarding COVID-19

To Our Le Orthodontics Patient Family,

Our community has been through a lot over the last few months, and all of us are looking forward to gradually resuming our normal habits and routines. While many things have changed, one thing has remained the same, our commitment to your safety.

Our office strictly follows the infection control recommendations and guidelines made by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO).

Additionally, we have made some interim changes to help protect our patients and staff:

  • Appointments will be managed to reduce the number of people in the office at any one time. Please be punctual.
  • Our staff may take a touchless temperature and ask screening questions before your appointment.
  • Consider sending the patient in for the routine adjustment appointment, while you wait in the car (whenever possible).
  • Please wear a face mask and practice social distancing when entering our office.
  • Each patient will be asked to rinse with mouthwash and wash hands before being seated for the procedure.

To Our Le Orthodontics Patient Family,

We hope you are healthy and safe. We want to update you about the latest news from our practice. In continuing to follow state/federal guidelines to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 and to allay the burden on the healthcare system with PPE, we are only open for emergency orthodontic care until May 8. Please be assured that we are reviewing your individual case needs to ensure timely progress of your treatment. Each case is unique, so we will reach out to you as your appointment comes due. We are also set up with Smile Consult, a HIPAA compliant portal from Align, for virtual consults as needed. We look forward to seeing you soon.

A few tips to help optimize your treatment progress while you’re away:

  1. Maintain great oral hygiene (brush and floss daily); change toothbrush/brush head every 2-3 months.
  2. Keep wearing rubber bands as directed (please let us know if you need more; we can mail them to you).
  3. Wear your retainers/aligners as directed; clean them daily.
  4. Call us if you have an orthodontic emergency.

To Our Le Orthodontics Patient Family,

The state of Florida has directed all hospitals, surgery centers, dental, orthodontic and endodontic offices to cease performing elective services until May 8, 2020. As a result of this executive order, our office will only see patients with urgent or emergency dental needs such as:

  • Uncontrolled bleeding, dental or facial trauma, severe tooth fracture
  • Significant dental/oral pain or swelling, infection, limited function
  • Wire/orthodontic appliance that is piercing or ulcerating the oral mucosa

We will continue to closely monitor updates from the CDC, American Dental Association and our state and federal officials and keep you informed of any changes to our operations.

In recognition of ongoing news reports and the continued spread of the COVID-19 virus, we realize our patients have questions. As dedicated health care professionals, we want you to know that we remain as diligent as ever in protecting the health and safety of our patients and staff. Our practice strictly adheres to and exceeds the standards for infection control by wearing personal protective gear, using hospital-grade disinfectants, practicing the latest sterilization protocols, utilizing single-use disposable materials, and more. Every effort we have in place is to ensure the safety of our patients and staff. We want you to know that we are monitoring this situation very closely, and we will keep you updated regularly.

Symptoms of coronavirus are reported as flu-like, with varying degrees of severity. While we do not know everything about this virus to date, individuals who are elderly and/or immunocompromised appear to be the most at risk of a severe infection. To ensure your health and safety, and the health and safety of everyone at our practice, please reschedule your appointment if you or a member of your household has a cough, fever, and/or flu-like symptoms. In addition, please reschedule your appointment if you have traveled to any areas within the past 14 days that are at high risk for contracting the coronavirus.
